Is there a need for ethnic themed communal buying services like Groupon? Allen Ganz and Jodi Samuels think so. They’re co-founders of the Jewish-mom-aimed site MetroImma and have just rolled out jdeal, a new discount aggregation site/community aimed specifically at Jewish consumers. In just six weeks their membership has gone from 1,000 to 5,000. The site plans to launch in seven other markets in the U.S. and Canada over the next 18 months.
