Nokia gives e-recycling program another shot in Uganda. The company is hoping to entice Uganda’s 11MM cell phone users to recycle devices, chargers and accessories.
The effort, originally launched in 2008 wasn’t as successful as in some other African countries like S. Africa mainly due to the lack in incentives and number of drop-off centers. While the effort only initially collected 400 devices it puts Nokia in a position to be the leading sustainability advocate in the country of Uganda.
